Who I am, What I do

My name is Renee.  I started this blog in order to spread the word about the raw food diet and just healthy eating in general and to encourage people to simply give it a try.  I started the raw food diet about a year ago and have fallen in love!  While I have always been somewhat of a “health nut”, my husband is pretty new to the idea of eating healthy.  The two of us make a great team, because he challenges me to make good for you food that’s also makes your taste buds happy and appeals to your senses.

Health and nutrition are my passions.   I worked at a locally owned health food store for almost three years and loved the opportunity to help people through nutrition.  I am currently a year away from having my bachelor’s degree in Health Science.  Then I will get my master’s in order to become a Registered Dietitian.  I’m so excited about getting to help people with their health through food as my career!

To some many a “raw food diet” or “living food diet” or just the word diet in general might sound kooky or foreign.  Diet simply refers to the way you eat on a day to day basis.  Hopefully in this blog I can bring some of it down to earth.  I try to create foods that leave you wanting nothing.  I have always LOVED cooking and creating new recipes.  I was once asked, “Don’t you like food???” when I explained the way I eat to someone.  Let it be known I LOVE food.  A living food diet doesn’t just mean carrots and lettuce.  Nor does it have to entail exotic foods like dragon fruit or lucama(what’s that?).  You also don’t have to rob your piggy bank to eat healthy.  I hope this blog encourages people to move closer to their goal of living a healthier life!  Even just incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet can provide great benefits.  Enjoy delicious recipes, down to earth discussions, and real life scenarios!

  2. I am so glad your blogging and there for others to help them try a raw foods or high raw lifestyle! My husband and I are vegans, we are gearing up for transition to high raw in spring – and may go totally raw, we’ll just see what happens. Thanks for having this blog, we’ll look to it for support and encouragement!

Just dropping by to say hello. I am so surprised that I ran into a fellow raw fooder. I really like your blog. I went back to Peachtree foods to get another pack of Flax crackers and I couldnt resist passing on those “nacho” kale chips, lol! I can not remember her name but the lady with the curly hair had alot of nice things to say about you.
